Vybz Kartel’s “King Of The Dancehall” album debuts at No.2 on the Billboard

Incarcerated Dancehall superstar Vybz Kartel’s new album “King Of The Dancehall” made it’s debut on the Billboard Reggae Album Chart at the No.2 spot.

The project which also peaked at No.1 on the iTunes Reggae chart in the USA and Italy a day after it’s release has been getting rave reviews since it’s release earlier this month.

According to Kartel, “King of the Dancehall is not just a 14 song compilation, it’s a masterpiece, an album that encompasses the very essence of Adidja Palmer and by extension, The Jamaican experience.”

Kartel added that, “the album will bring its listeners into the world of hardcore Dancehall.”

Meanwhile, Dancehall enigma Alkaline’s debut album “New Level Unlocked” fell two places from last week to sit at the No.9 spot on the Billboard Reggae Album Chart. Since it’s March 25 release, the project has maintained a strong presence in the top 10 for 12 weeks.

Alkaline is currently on his ‘New Level Unlock’ world tour.
