Two Jamaican women die in British Virgin Islands (BVI) within days, both from Mandeville

A’strange coincidence’ is how some persons are describing the unexplained deaths of two Jamaican women in the British Virgin Islands (BVI) within days of each other. Even stranger is the fact that both women hail from Mandeville, Manchester.

According to BVI News Online, Suzette Edwards-Frett died late this week of unexplained causes. She was a health worker in the BVI, and had gotten married in the country on March 21.

Just days before, on Monday, another Jamaican woman, 38-year-old Tracy Forbes, died suddenly at her Long Trench home in the BVI.

According to the BVI police, “The deceased, (Forbes) had gone to sleep after midnight (Monday morning), but was unresponsive around 3 a.m. to her boyfriend’s attempts to wake her.”

The police say their investigations thus far have not revealed any foul play involved in the women’s deaths, however, they are awaiting autopsy results.
