Stop order placed on another Negril hotel site following death

Following the death of a Chinese worker last Thursday, a 10-day stop order has been placed on construction activities at the Azul Hotel site in Negril, Westmoreland.

The dead Chinese national has been identified as Agen Han, a 47-year-old scaffolding operator.

According to police reports Han was killed in a freak accident involving a crane lowering material on a building top. A miscalculation with equipment reportedly resulted in a freak accident that partially severed the victim’s head.

The 10 day stop order was issued by Local Government Minister, Desmond McKenzie, following a request from the police through the Westmoreland Parish Council.
