Outcry as St Mary taxi operator shot dead by off-duty cop

St Mary residents have condemned the shooting death of a taxi operator by an off-duty police officer at a party in Heywood Hall in the parish on Sunday, June 12.

The dead man has been identified as 31-year-old Milton Allison, otherwise called ‘Paps’, who was a taxi operator in the parish.

Reports are that Allison was allegedly involved in a bottle throwing incident with a female patron at a party, and was then slapped by a man.

Eyewitnesses say Allison would later return with a machete, where he damaged a motor vehicle, but the occupant emerged and shot him dead.

According to sources, the man who shot him is a off-duty police officer assigned to the scene of crime unit in the parish.

The matter has been reported to the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM).
