One schoolboy charged for illegal gun, other released

The police have slapped charges on one of two schoolboys, who were allegedly held with a illegal firearm in West Kingston on Monday morning.

Both 16-year-old boys were taken into custody after they were allegedly found with a .38 revolver and rounds of ammunition just metres from the Denham Town Police Station.

Cops say one teen has been charged by detectives from the Kingston Western Police Division on Monday night, while the other was released after questioning.

The charged teen is scheduled to appear in the Gun Court on June 23.

According to reports both teens were recently suspended from the Corporate Area high school they  attend for disciplinary reasons.
